Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a mental health disorder affecting children and adults. A person with ADHD has different brain functions that affect their attention span, self-control and focus. ADHD also impacts a person's energy levels and ability to sit still.
The symptoms of ADHD can often be overlooked as they are common feelings and behaviours we all experience from time to time. However, the key difference is that ADHD presents excessive behaviours and feelings.

Many researchers believe that genetics and brain structure play a role in the development of ADHD, but there is still no known direct cause.
A reduction in dopamine levels in the brain has also been thought to contribute to symptoms of ADHD.
ADHD is typically treated with medication, but there are a number of natural remedies that research indicates may have a possible effect on the symptoms of ADHD. Therefore, I prefer an integrative approach and treat patients according to their needs.
