I am an experienced medical doctor that has been treating patients with various mental health disorders for over a decade.
In 2004, I achieved my MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch before starting my career journey as a Psychiatric Medical Officer at the Karl Bremer and Paarl Hospital. I then completed my Psychiatric Registrar teaching at the University of Witwatersrand from 2009 to 2013.
Following this, I took up a position as Psychiatric Medical Officer at Fort England Psychiatric Hospital until 2021, when I decided to move back to Cape Town and accept a similar position at Stikland Psychiatric Hospital. I am currently practising as a mental health practitioner in the Helderberg area.
My expansive career has equipped me with the experience and knowledge to specialise in treating mood disorders, psychotic disorders and other forms of mental health disorders. I firmly believe that every patient deserves to be able to speak to a physician that will advocate for their mental health. Therefore, my approach when treating my clients is always to ensure they feel heard, understood and empowered.
My goal is to equip them with the tools they need to make positive steps forward in their overall well-being. With this in mind, I take every opportunity to educate my clients about their condition and provide them with evidence-based treatment options to help them manage their condition effectively in the long run.
